Q: Why do human relationships so often turn into parallel existences rather than genuine connection?
Elpida Kontomarou: Many relationships turn into distant or parallel lives because the way we learned to connect as children still shapes us as adults. If we grew up without enough emotional security or with fear of rejection, we may find it hard to open up fully to others. Deep down, we might worry that if we show who we really are, we’ll get hurt or pushed away. So, without realizing it, we keep a safe distance ,even when what we truly want is closeness and connection.
